We all are aware of mobile theft. It is a crime which disturbs us to any limit. We are all so much attached to our cell phones that we cannot imagine it being stolen.
To protect us from such harms, the government of Pakistan took an important step and sent out the orders to register your mobile phones.
The Proper Way
The government of Pakistan provided an easy way; send the mobile’s 15-digit IMEI number to 8484 and your mobile status will be shown. It will be either complaint or non-complaint.
If your mobile phone is a complaint, then there is no issue, but if the answer which comes is non-complaint, then you are supposed to get it register.
You can also check your mobile phone status by visiting the PTA website link DIRBS.PTA.gov.pk.
Earlier the government of Pakistan issued date of 30th December for the final registry of the mobile phones. After that date, the government was supposed to ban the not registered phones.
Now there has been a relief in the final date. The verification deadline has been transferred to the 15th of January to complete the verification.
This system was introduced by the PTA. They developed DIBS (Devise Identification Registration and Blocking System) by the telecom policy 2015 issued by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom, section 9.6 to avoid incidents of mobile theft and to protect consumers interests.
