Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) have pressed their issue of subsidy on the new Hajj policy 2019 when the government is planning to establish an Islamic welfare state.
The Government Must Provide Maximum Facility to the Pilgrims
Council of Islamic Ideology has declared that providing facilities during the hajj is the government’s duty and they should reinstate the subsidy.
They are arguing that subsidy is not actually zakat or charity. It is an amount which can be used in different matters on different sectors.
According to the council, the government has increased the charges of this New Year’s Hajj policy 2019 due to the expenditure of the continuous purchasing power. They are pressing insist that government should reinstate the subsidy as it is not a charity for the government.
This argument is being supported by the top clerics of the country, and they are all backing the subsidy.
Government Stance on Subsidy
The government has rejected this option stating that Hajj is only allowed on those people who can afford hajj. So, allowing the subsidy is not an option to be considered.
Also, they have not supported the idea of subsidizing food expenditure to the borne of pilgrims. Many federal ministers are opposed to it.
