Social media is known for its outrageous disciplinary breaches and no one is safe from it, not even the army. That is why; Pakistan Army has decided to put a ban on the social media usage among the Personnel to secure leaks of sensitive information.
Notification Issued by GHQ Regarding the Ban
It has come into the knowledge of us that a document has been issued by the GHQ (General Headquarter) which explains the ban on social media groups.
According to the document, it has come into knowledge that despite several notices in the past, a leak of sensitive information has been seen occurring on the social media again and again.
GHQ fears that such information can bring any kind of serious harm to the safety of the country and also its people.
Therefore, all army personal regardless of their ranks or department, are directed to exit such social media outlets; even the retired army officers are asked to stay away from these platforms as they might contribute to such leak of information without knowing.
Educating the Family Members Regarding this Serious Issue
It has also been directed that army personnel must educate their family members regarding this situation and also tell them to refrain from joining such pages.
All personsare asked to exit these pages before 30th January otherwise serious action will be taken against them.
If any personal related to the army is found involved in such SMN (social media network) groups, it will be considered as a code of misconduct and strict disciplinary action will be taken against them.
