A summary was forwarded to the ministry of finance and Petroleum Division by OGRA (Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority) to bring the prices of nearly all the petroleum products down.
These prices were proposed in the awake the international prices which have taken a fall in recent days. The ministry is taking a look at the proposed prices, and they are supposed to bring out a final word on Monday.
Current Price vs. Expected Price:
The current price list of the petroleum products isas under;
- Petrol: Rs.95.83 per liter
- High-Speed Diesel: Rs.110.94 per liter
- Light Diesel Oil: Rs.77.44 per liter
- Kerosene Oil: Rs.83.5 per liter
If the government approved the recommended price list then the items mentioned above will be as under;
- Petrol: Rs.86.33 per liter
- High-Speed Diesel: Rs.95.04 per liter
- Light Diesel Oil: Rs.75.44 per liter
- Kerosene Oil: Rs.83.00 per liter.
The major difference will be of High-speed diesel with almost 15 rupees while petrol will have a much decline price of almost 9.50 rupee.
Although it is highly unlikely that the government will change these prices because the government has still not charged the usual standard 17% GST on any petroleum product.
OGRA increased the price of high-speed diesel and petrol last month by 2 rupees each, but this time the OGRA has to offer the lower price because the international prices have got low as well.
Now we have to wait till Monday 31st of December that whether the government gives a new year’s gift to its public or not by lowering the petroleum prices.
