With the PSL 2019 approaching fast and only a few days left in it, plans regarding the security are being finalized. The latest news has it that those matches which are to be played in Karachi will have tight security which will feature Rangers, Police and Traffic police as well.
According to the SSP East Karachi Ghulam Azhar Mahesar, the security plans have been finalized, and players’ security has been the top priority. Rangers, Police, Traffic Police, Intelligence Agencies and SSU will be a big part of the security plans.
SSP also revealed that six thousand men from police, Sindh Rangers and other law enforcement agencies would be assigned their duties during the event.
He also added that night vision helicopters with foolproof security of five layers will also be employed. He said that snipers would be added at the rooftops to ensure a more secure and safe environment. This will add to the strength of security.
“Apart from deployment of police and rangers, bomb disposal squad will also be present at the streets during all five matches,” the SSP said.
It is noteworthy here to mention that ICC has shown its satisfaction on the security measure taken by the Karachi Police for a smooth and secure game.
In this year’s PSL 2019, five matches will be played in Karachi at the National Stadium. In the first scheduled match, Karachi Kings will take on Peshawar Zalmi on March 10.
The other four games, including eliminators and the grand finale, will also be played at the National Stadium on March 13, 15 and 17 respectively.
